ida turned 3 this week.  we had a little family party tonight where we opened gifts, had some cake and danced.  kids like to dance, i like to dance.  we had a good time.  we love ida so much.  she is spunky and smart.  she is a good girl and has been a pleasure to parent over the last 3 years.  our family is pretty complete because of her.

yesterday we stood out in the freezing cold for a couple of hours with crowds of others to see the construction workers place moroni on top of the calgary temple.  well worth the frozen cheeks, nose and fingers.

do you know how many miles we have driven/flown since november 30?  thousands.
do you know how many wonderful experiences we have had since november 30?  thousands.
do you know how many freckles are on my face?  thousands.

we are finally back.  our christmas/new years trip to las vegas/los angeles was fantastic.  we mixed in some strep throat and ear infections but all in all - AWESOME.

for now just pics, i have a part II where i will expound, maybe.

i've got everything that i need, right in front of me

we have had a few rainy, windy, cold days here in maui.  so, we have been toodling around hiking in-between rain showers.  super beautiful landscapes.  so out of the ordinary.  the kids turn into sweat balls in the back seat as we drive.  the days are running into each other.  i am hoping by the end of the trip {which is in a couple of days} i will be able to pull all my thoughts together into a grand finale of sorts.  our favourite spots and experiences.  until then, pics will have to do.
