halloween weekend spectacular*spectacular

this year, we are REALLY putting elis costume to good use! the weekend kicked off with a very fun halloween party at chuck and sandras. the kids decorated cookies, played games and watched "the nightmare before christmas". so much fun, she even had treat pumpkin buckets for them to take home. the kids had fun!

the next day (saturday), eli had a primary party, where he wore his costume again. it was their fall fair, i did not go, but heard it was a tonne of fun and well organized.
that night, dave, lisa and audrey came over at 6:30, we took some pictures, and headed out to the calgary philharmonic orchestra. every year they do a "Spooktacular", it is a family event, the orchestra dresses up, everyone in the audience dresses up and they play spooky classics along with a few for the kids (the montster mash, purple people eater...) eli and audrey really had a good time and it was so neat to sit there and hear live music. amazing.
the kids got their picture taken with the fellow that came out and did 2 numbers with the orchestra. he played the violin and he was amazing. so young with so much talent. i have never seen fingers move that fast.
we saw brother rawlings there, he has been with the CPO for 34 years. who stays with their job for that long anymore. he said when he was 12 he went to a concert and came home and knew what he was going to do with his life. he is their principal percussionist. great story and truly talented.

this morning we woke up to lots of snow. grey and snowy.
after church, we got dressed warm and started the shoveling. all the neighbours were out shoveling along with us.
tonight, we are going to mum and dads for a roast beef dinner. doesn't that sound good? i can't wait.
