sunfest 06

this afternoon we went down to the Inglewood Sunfest on 9th avenue. on the way we stopped in chinatown for a thi-thi sub and ended up running over SOMETHING. it is that pink gooey crap all over the back tire and car, it stunk and we couldn't get it off, WHAT THE HECK IS IT??? when cj got out of the car to check it out (it was making crackling noises...) the look on his face was so crazy i just had to get out and look for myself, ha ha, we were laughing, is it a SQUID??? ha ha ha
we finally got to the sunfest where we chowed on kettle korn and purple pop (see elis moustache...)
it was a fun day, we feel pooped and sun'd up.

new work

wow, well, if you have been wondering what cj has been up to since MONDAY MORNING.... he got home at 2:00am last night and was zombie-like. thank goodness randy has been shoting with him all week. it is quite amazing the amount of work that has been prepared for, shot and all the post done on.... the magazines these were shot for are AARP, the Cover of Time Asia, and CRN? you can probably see the shots that go together as a group.
anyho, check em out and i will go check and see if cj's vital signs are ok...

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

just thought i would post some mothers day photos, it has been awhile since i've made an entry, we have had a really long, tiring, stressful week with eli as you all know, last night we went back to the childrens, hopefully for the last time in a long while. just keep praying for him and all will be well. we really appreciate ALL the help with meals, prayers, fasting, and support that we have received from the family and ward members, we just feel so thankful and grateful.
the mothers day pics are great, but the lame thing is, NO PICTURE OF MOM! what the heck, how did that happen??!? sorry mom, we just never got everyone rounded up with you!
the kids pic with all their italy shirts on is cute, they loved those shirts!
i am throwing in a mystery picture, just for fun, it makes me laugh everytime i look at it, it just about sums up our last week, ha ha, enjoy.

kids day at olympic oval

today we went down to the Olympic Oval on the University of Calgary's campus where they were holding a children/family festival type thing. it was a good time, the kids all took turns climbing a rock wall, checking out the goats at the petting station and running around on the campus grounds afterwards. the weather was nice, a bit spotty with clouds, but all in all it produced tired, dirty kids that had a good time.

gaudy goody

oh boy, welcome to the world of really ugly cakes.... ok, last night was our final night at cake decorating class. the main focus was making the "Wilton Rose" (see the 4 purple cabbages on the top of the cake, ha ha). super cheesy in my book, but i was able to make the four you see.
i think a few things went wrong here:
1. for some reason, i was possessed and brought THE ugliest mix of colours to class.
2. roses just aren't my thing, so that kind of threw me off.
3. i went crazy with the leaf tip and decided to delve into the world of ferns, ha ha.
4. it is just 100% ugly. it just got to a point where i just decided to kick it up a notch and go really ugly.
5. i think it was just poor planning on my part as far as the layout, the colours and deciding that i would actually put those crazy flowers on the cake.

ah well, it was a good way to go out, i learned alot and had a good time with sandra and lisa! thanks!
by the way, i love elis expression, he is not too sure about the cake either and if you want to see what MY cake should of looked like, go to chuck and sandras blog.
